Base Salary
$120k - $235k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect, design, develop, and maintain firmware infrastructure, platform services, and foundational software for cloud hardware, AI infrastructure, and custom silicon platforms.
- Build reusable firmware frameworks, libraries, hardware abstraction layers, and common services across hardware programs and generations.
- Drive pre-silicon firmware development, FPGA prototyping, simulation, integration, validation, and hardware bring-up.
- Develop platform management, serviceability, telemetry, diagnostics, and reliability capabilities.
- Collaborate with silicon, hardware, platform, validation, and software engineering teams on requirements, architecture, integration, and technical problem-solving.
- Provide technical leadership through system design, architecture reviews, root-cause analysis, mentoring, and engineering improvements.
Requirements
- Doctorate in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field and 1+ year of technical engineering experience; or a master's degree and 4+ years; or a bachelor's degree and 5+ years; or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience developing firmware, embedded software, or systems software is preferred, with strong professional C/C++ experience.
- Experience with firmware for complex hardware, server-class systems, datacenter platforms, or AI accelerators is preferred.
- Experience with SoC bring-up, bootloaders, BSPs, HALs, device drivers, and hardware interfaces such as I2C/I3C, SPI, UART, or PCIe is preferred.
- Debugging, unit testing, modular design, hardware/software integration, hardware debug tools, and schematic familiarity are preferred.
- Experience with PLDM, MCTP, Redfish, telemetry, diagnostics, firmware updates, RAS, Linux, Python, Git, CI, or Azure DevOps is preferred.
- Embedded Rust, secure firmware, Root of Trust, and pre-silicon development experience are preferred.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check, is required.
