Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test software applications for space systems and technologies.
- Write clean, maintainable code following development best practices and coding standards.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to understand requirements and complete assigned tasks.
- Use Git and other version control systems to manage code changes collaboratively.
- Participate in code reviews to support code quality and development standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software-related issues.
- Document software designs, configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Stay current with software development and space technology trends.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree.
- Typically 0–2 years of experience.
- Basic understanding of programming languages and software development principles.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable code.
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.
- U.S. Citizenship is required because the position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance.
- Preferred frontend development experience with React, TypeScript, NodeJS, FastAPI, or similar technologies.
- Familiarity with Windows and Linux/Unix development environments.
- Understanding of TCP/IP, sockets, and client-server architectures.
- Exposure to automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
- Exposure to command-and-control, telemetry, or mission-operations software concepts.
- Basic understanding of spacecraft, satellite, or ground-system operations concepts.
- Understanding of Agile software development methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
- Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, communication, and teamwork skills.
