Principal Consultant - Technical Implementation Developer / Front-Office Trading
State StreetResponsibilities
- Lead client engagements and projects through completion within scope and statements of work.
- Assess client requirements and design, communicate, and deliver technical solutions from presales through implementation.
- Oversee installation and delivery of n-tier software using disaster recovery and high-availability designs.
- Provide advanced technical expertise in infrastructure, performance tuning, development, advanced configuration, troubleshooting, or integration for CRIMS.
- Identify, document, and resolve project issues across multiple simultaneous initiatives.
- Direct, guide, and mentor less experienced consultants assigned to implementation projects.
- Partner with sales teams on presentations, proof-of-concept projects, CRIMS demonstrations, prototypes, and client recommendations.
- Design and execute technical training for clients.
- Build relationships with clients and internal teams, influence decision makers, and manage difficult situations.
- Strategically solve problems and maintain system integrity across multiple projects.
Requirements
- Front-office, buyside, or investment software trading experience is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in a business or technical field such as Finance, Economics, Engineering, or Computer Science.
- 8–10 years of progressively responsible experience in the financial or software services industry, preferably with a financial market information systems background.
- Ability to program in Java or C#.
- In-depth knowledge of at least one relational database management system: Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, or Sybase.
- Knowledge of Tomcat configuration and optimization, n-tier application architecture, SOAP/XML messaging, and messaging technologies such as MQ Series, Tibco, MSMQ, Sonic MQ, Open JMS, or Kafka.
- Knowledge of ETL tools such as Kettle and Talend.
- Familiarity with Windows and Unix environments, including Solaris and Linux.
- Familiarity with source control systems such as Subversion or Perforce.
- Experience with Azure and Snowflake.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, solve problems analytically, communicate effectively, and operate hands-on with clients.
- Ability to work beyond regular business hours and travel to client sites throughout the United States and Canada.
