Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of high-performance, scalable, and maintainable Android applications.
- Drive mobile architecture decisions and ensure consistency across modules and platforms.
- Write clean, modular Kotlin code and apply appropriate software design patterns.
- Collaborate with product, backend, and design teams to translate goals into technical solutions.
- Lead code reviews, performance profiling, and release planning.
- Guide and mentor engineers while promoting technical excellence and ownership.
- Contribute to DAZN’s evolving Android and mobile technology roadmap.
Requirements
- 8+ years of total software development experience.
- 2+ years of experience in a Lead or Architecture role.
- Strong hands-on Android development experience using Kotlin and Java.
- Experience designing and implementing scalable, modular mobile application architectures.
- Experience integrating RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and backend services.
- Proficiency with MVVM, Clean Architecture, and MVI design patterns.
- Familiarity with build automation, CI/CD pipelines, and release workflows.
- Understanding of SOA, JSON/REST, and XML/SOAP integrations.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and leadership skills.
- Nice-to-have experience with AWS Lambda, Aurora, SQS, or GCP Firebase.
- Knowledge of broadcast systems, digital video pipelines, metadata workflows, event-driven architectures, microservices, or real-time data systems.
- Experience in Agile/Scrum environments and distributed engineering teams.
- Familiarity with AndroidX TV libraries and connected-device UI frameworks.
