Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable, resilient systems using Python, SQL, React, AWS, and related technologies.
- Execute software design, development, debugging, technical troubleshooting, and maintenance across the full stack as needed.
- Partner with internal clients to gather requirements and deliver tools supporting strategy, decisioning, and risk and cost management.
- Produce secure, high-quality production code and maintain reliable services, algorithms, and upstream/downstream integrations.
- Contribute to application architecture and design artifacts while ensuring implementation meets design constraints.
- Analyze large and diverse datasets and create visualizations and reporting to improve software applications and systems.
- Identify data patterns and hidden problems to improve coding hygiene, data quality, and system architecture.
- Design and implement LLM-enabled features such as summarization, extraction, question answering, and reasoning assistants.
- Develop prompts and system instructions as versioned artifacts with test cases and measurable evaluation criteria.
- Implement RAG, tool or function calling, workflow orchestration, and human-in-the-loop review patterns.
- Build evaluation, monitoring, regression testing, guardrail, and observability approaches for AI features.
- Apply secure engineering practices to AI-enabled systems, including data minimization, access controls, sensitive-data handling, and protection against prompt injection and misuse.
- Participate in software engineering communities of practice and explore emerging AI engineering patterns.
Requirements
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Proficiency coding in Java or Python.
- Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using modern programming and database querying languages.
- Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle, agile methodologies, application resiliency, security, and CI/CD.
- Knowledge of software applications and technical processes in a technical discipline such as cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or mobile technology.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver AI-enabled capabilities responsibly using prompting techniques, structured inputs and outputs, evaluation approaches, and iterative refinement.
- Preferred familiarity with React and other modern front-end technologies.
- Preferred exposure to AWS and other cloud technologies.
- Knowledge of or interest in the financial industry is preferred.
- Preferred applied AI engineering experience with RAG, semantic search, embeddings, prompt or version management, LLM evaluations, model or service integration patterns, or production AI feature monitoring.
