Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test, deploy, and operate cloud-native alternative payment method microservices and components.
- Build adapters and connectors for global payment providers, including API mappings, webhook handling, local currencies, and regional regulations.
- Contribute to component-level data models, APIs, service objectives, and integration patterns such as polling and asynchronous messaging.
- Participate in provider sandboxes, certifications, phased rollouts, code reviews, design reviews, and cross-functional launch activities.
- Join the on-call rotation, follow runbooks, improve alerts and dashboards, and add metrics, logs, and traces.
- Triage and fix bugs, perform focused refactoring, and reduce technical debt while following secure, performant, and reliable coding practices.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of software engineering experience or equivalent.
- Proficiency with Java, Spring Boot, and Docker.
- Strong test-driven development and automated testing experience, including unit, integration, and contract testing.
- Understanding of distributed systems and integration concepts including idempotency, retries, timeouts, circuit breakers, partitioning, and fault tolerance.
- Experience with CI/CD, release automation, and GitHub-based workflows.
- Fluent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Knowledge of Agile delivery and continuous improvement.
- Preferred experience with Kubernetes, AWS, OpenShift, Kafka or other messaging systems, payments or fintech, PCI-DSS, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, feature flags, provider sandboxes, certifications, and staged rollouts.
