Responsibilities
- Design and build shared enterprise AI platforms and reference architectures for LLM, agentic, and multi-agent applications.
- Establish reusable patterns for agent state, persistence, memory, context management, human-in-the-loop workflows, and orchestration.
- Build and operate an AI gateway and model proxy supporting routing, fallback, retries, quotas, caching, token metering, and cost attribution.
- Develop retrieval capabilities using ingestion, embeddings, vector and hybrid search, metadata, and reranking.
- Build model and agent evaluation, regression testing, observability, and end-to-end tracing capabilities.
- Operate the Azure AI foundation, including networking, identity, access control, secrets, policy, compute, infrastructure as code, and pipelines.
- Create governed AI sandboxes and controls for data access, PII, prompt injection, content safety, auditability, cost management, and agent autonomy.
- Embed with business and engineering teams to deliver production AI use cases, manage releases, and generalize deployments into platform services, SDKs, templates, and standards.
Requirements
- 10+ years of primarily hands-on experience in software, cloud, or platform engineering, including ownership of an AI or ML platform used by other teams in production.
- Deep Kubernetes and distributed-systems experience with strong cloud networking, security architecture, and reliability engineering practice.
- Required Azure experience with Microsoft Foundry, Azure OpenAI models, Foundry Models catalog, Foundry Agent Service, Microsoft Agent Framework, and Azure AI Content Safety.
- Experience with AKS or Azure Container Apps, Bicep or Terraform, and Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions, including authoring pipelines and modules.
- Experience building or operating an LLM or AI gateway with token metering, model routing, quota enforcement, and caching.
- Experience with vector and hybrid retrieval, embedding and ingestion pipelines, and technologies such as Azure AI Search, Cosmos DB, or pgvector.
- Experience building model evaluation from scratch, including datasets, metrics, judges, and regression suites.
- Production experience with Microsoft Entra ID, Azure RBAC, Key Vault, and Private Link.
- Strong Python skills and enough TypeScript to build and debug applications end to end.
- Experience delivering while embedded with business or engineering teams and accountability for outcomes.
- Enterprise judgment regarding data classification, PII handling, access control, auditability, and responsible AI.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred experience includes LangGraph, multi-agent or agent-runtime systems, MCP, enterprise tool gateways, identity-aware tool execution, agent memory and context architectures, AI gateway technologies, OpenTelemetry, evaluation tools, durable workflow technologies, MLflow, GPU workloads, and forward-deployed or platform consulting environments.
