Base Salary
$85k - $195k/yr
Responsibilities
- Act as the go-to technical expert for a core Foundations area such as identity, authentication, or access control.
- Design and build backend services and shared platform components.
- Own complex components from design through production.
- Break large projects into milestones, communicate risks and status, and deliver projects on time.
- Investigate difficult technical problems and identify technical debt and risks.
- Mentor engineers through pairing, code review, and design review.
- Document technical decisions and collaborate with Product and engineering teams on priorities.
Requirements
- 4+ years of software development experience, including ownership of complex backend systems.
- Backend programming experience in Python or Go.
- Experience with platform engineering or building common platform components.
- Experience breaking large projects into milestones and delivering on time.
- Experience mentoring engineers through code and design reviews.
- Strong Linux and distributed systems fundamentals.
- Experience aligning technical work with product priorities across teams.
- Experience incorporating AI into development workflows and authoring AI-enhanced tooling.
