Base Salary
$150k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement software supporting the build, test, and operation of K2 vehicles and customer payloads.
- Develop new capabilities and automation for the mission software platform supporting multiple satellite constellations.
- Collaborate with Mission Operators, Flight Software teams, and other engineers to define mission architecture and solve technical and business problems.
- Facilitate software design reviews, architecture discussions, and code reviews.
- Develop across the Rust backend and TypeScript/Vue frontend stack to support development, testing, and operations milestones.
- Support internal and external customers in an on-call capacity during ground testing and on-orbit spacecraft operations.
- Mentor other engineers and strengthen team culture and software engineering practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mathematics, or another STEM discipline, or equivalent professional software engineering experience.
- At least 5 years of experience building software solutions in a professional environment.
- Experience with Rust or another statically typed backend language such as Go, C++, Java, C#, or TypeScript is preferred.
- Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript and modern frontend tooling such as Vue, React, or Svelte is preferred.
- Experience with version control, continuous integration, build, deployment, monitoring, HTTP or gRPC APIs, SQL databases, event-driven architectures, reliable scalable systems, Docker, Kubernetes, WebSockets, or Server-Sent Events is preferred.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity practices and standards such as SOC2 and FedRAMP, networking protocols including TCP/IP, UDP, and QUIC, and streaming technologies such as NATS or Pulsar is preferred.
- Experience with space missions or satellite ground segments is preferred.
- The role requires eligibility as a U.S. person or eligibility for a federally issued export control license under ITAR regulations.
