Base Salary
$87k - $222k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build multi-agent systems with orchestration, state management, error recovery, memory, planning, tool integration, and human-in-the-loop workflows.
- Integrate agent architectures with Hamilton, Tecan, Opentrons, robotic workflows, liquid handlers, analytical instruments, LIMS, and laboratory control systems.
- Prototype, productionize, deploy, and maintain intelligent systems that connect high-level planning logic with low-level instrument control.
- Deploy containerized services using Docker and Kubernetes, including Argo-based cloud orchestration.
- Partner with scientists and automation engineers to transition prototypes into reliable laboratory operations.
- Represent Frontier AI through publications, talks, paper reviews, external research engagement, vendor evaluation, and academic collaborations.
Requirements
- PhD in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline, or an MS with two years or BS with five years of equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated experience with laboratory automation systems and LIMS engineering.
- Direct experience integrating software control or AI systems with liquid handlers, analytical instruments, and robotic workflows.
- Strong production experience with Docker and Kubernetes-based orchestration.
- Experience building scalable, production-level Python applications using tools such as Redis, FastAPI, Flask or Streamlit, and pytest.
- Preferred experience includes LLM post-training, fine-tuning, RLHF, AI or algorithmic decision systems for laboratory automation, translation layers between planning logic and instrument control, and research contributions or publications in relevant ML/NLP venues.
