Responsibilities
- Architect and deliver scalable, resilient, production-grade AI solutions using agentic systems, LLMs, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures.
- Define enterprise-wide architecture patterns, integration standards, technical direction, governance frameworks, and reusable platform capabilities.
- Lead AI-driven legacy modernization through automated code transformation, service decomposition, and continuous optimization.
- Design and implement AI-enabled software development lifecycle practices to improve engineering velocity and quality.
- Establish monitoring, evaluation, responsible AI, security, and other technical standards for enterprise AI systems.
- Partner with engineering, business, clinical, and technology stakeholders to drive adoption of AI-assisted development and scalable AI-enabled products.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership, mentorship, and influence over enterprise technology decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, plus at least 15 years of software engineering experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience leading, designing, implementing, and operating distributed systems and large-scale architectures.
- Experience developing and maintaining software with Python, Java, or comparable object-oriented programming languages.
- Experience designing APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures and applying cloud, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
- Preferred experience delivering enterprise AI solutions across healthcare domains such as claims, pharmacy, care management, payment integrity, and clinical operations.
- Preferred expertise in agentic AI, LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation, knowledge graphs, semantic layers, ontologies, conversational analytics, AI orchestration, and intelligent automation.
- Preferred experience with enterprise data strategies, Apache Iceberg, data catalogs, metadata management, semantic models, data products, and interoperable data ecosystems.
- Preferred experience building AI platforms with AI gateways, vector databases, governance, security, and responsible AI capabilities.
- Preferred healthcare payer experience, including healthcare data, FHIR/HL7 interoperability, and regulated environments.
- Preferred experience designing and operating large-scale cloud-native applications, leading complex enterprise software architecture, mentoring engineering teams, and applying AI or machine learning to production software.
