
Geospatial Backend Developer – Multiple Positions at Junior/Mid/Senior Levels

Responsibilities
- Build backend services for geospatial processing, automation, and user-facing capabilities.
- Develop APIs, proxies, and integration services using Node.js and Python, with Java for enterprise integrations and services.
- Extend ArcGIS Enterprise and maintain geoprocessing services, automation scripts, operational workflows, connectors, and ingestion pipelines.
- Support deployments across containerized, cloud-native, and on-premises environments.
- Improve reliability and performance through API design, testing, monitoring, and observability.
- Collaborate with platform, DevOps, and GIS teams to deliver production solutions.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship and an active or current-within-two-years Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility are required.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, GIS, or a STEM-related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 2 years of experience as a backend software engineer or equivalent practical experience.
- Hands-on experience with Python, JavaScript/Node.js, and Java for backend services and enterprise integrations.
- Experience designing REST APIs and service-based architectures.
- Experience integrating with or extending ArcGIS Enterprise or similar enterprise geospatial platforms.
- Familiarity with geoprocessing workflows, proxies, middleware services, GIS or data-processing automation, and containerized environments.
- Preferred qualifications include a master's degree, Esri certification, CompTIA Security+, Docker and Kubernetes experience, Azure/AWS/GCP familiarity, monitoring and observability experience, DevSecOps exposure, ArcGIS SDK or automation-framework experience, geospatial services or data-pipeline experience, enterprise authentication, and relational or spatial database experience.
