Responsibilities
- Lead architecture, development, documentation, and maintenance of software engineering processes, tools, and systems.
- Design and develop web applications, server applications, APIs, data-processing pipelines, and analytics capabilities.
- Build infrastructure supporting application communications, logging, alerts, authentication, configuration, and scalability.
- Provide technical oversight for production-ready systems and guide architecture, design, development, testing, and maintenance.
- Prototype new features and applications and help transition prototypes and minimum viable products into production.
- Create test suites, oversee code reviews, and ensure software aligns with requirements, standards, and traceability expectations.
- Research emerging technologies and resolve complex technical issues affecting availability, resilience, and performance.
- Mentor engineers, lead projects and initiatives, collaborate with stakeholders, and define solutions based on user and system requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education.
- Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance and ability to obtain Special Program Access.
- At least 5 years of backend software development experience with Java, Spring, Oracle SQL, or SQL Server.
- At least 5 years of experience with Go, Python, Java, or an equivalent server language.
- At least 5 years of experience with SQL or PL/SQL database technologies.
- Preferred experience includes 9 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Preferred experience includes infrastructure development, concurrency programming, GitLab, Docker, Kubernetes, JavaScript frameworks, Go or Java, C++ or Python, Kafka, NiFi, Redis, RabbitMQ, RESTful APIs, AWS, and large-scale distributed software architecture.
- Preferred experience includes project leadership and knowledge of microservices, client-server architecture, event-driven architecture, domain-driven design, and scalable on-premises or cloud systems.
- Active Top Secret clearance is preferred.

- Summary base pay ranges from $126,650 to $171,350 for Experienced Level and from $160,650 to $217,350 for Senior Level.

- Relocation is offered based on candidate eligibility, with basic relocation available for eligible internal candidates.
- The position allows up to 10% travel and is a Shift 1 role in Berkeley, Missouri.

- A potential signing bonus may be available to eligible and qualified external candidates.
