Responsibilities
- Build and maintain modular, accessible, and performant Android components in Haven.
- Contribute to the design token architecture for theming and platform adaptations.
- Own the design-to-code pipeline from Figma specs to production-ready components.
- Support product engineering teams with implementation guidance and troubleshooting.
- Establish testing standards for Haven components.
- Contribute to Haven's release process and versioning strategy.
- Partner with iOS engineers to maintain cross-platform consistency.
- Drive compliance with Android 16 and 17 features.
- Optimize developer experience with intuitive APIs and thorough documentation.
- Provide technical guidance to engineering and design teams.
- Build relationships across product lines to bridge design and engineering.
- Research and identify process improvements and create proof of concepts.
- Collaborate with leadership on goals and roadmaps.
- Engage in Agile ceremonies and work in a Kanban development process.
Requirements
- 5+ years of development experience with Kotlin, Java, and the Android SDK.
- Direct experience contributing to or building a design system.
- Passionate about Design Systems and solving complex UI problems.
- Strong experience with Jetpack Compose and Material Design integration.
- Deep understanding of design token architecture and semantic layers.
- Experience with Atomic Design methodology.
- Familiarity with Figma and maintaining design-to-code parity.
- Experience implementing scalable UI interactions and animations.
- Strong grasp of Android accessibility standards.
- Experience with component system tooling like Figma or Storybook.
- Ability to troubleshoot and debug mobile application issues.
- Experience working within an engineering platform or enablement team.
- Strong communication skills and a growth mindset.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
