Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Partner with engineers, research scientists, technical program managers, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components, including foundation model training, LLM inference, similarity search, guardrails, evaluation, experimentation, governance, and observability.
- Develop and apply optimization techniques to improve the scalability, cost, latency, throughput, and hardware utilization of large-scale production AI systems.
- Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap of foundational AI systems.
- Develop, deliver, and support scalable and responsible AI services.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field plus at least three years of experience developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies, or a relevant master's degree plus at least one year of that experience.
- At least three years of programming experience with Python, Go, Scala, or Java.
- Experience deploying scalable and responsible AI solutions on cloud platforms is preferred, including four years of experience where applicable.
- Preferred experience includes AI services, LLM inference, similarity search, vector databases, guardrails, memory, and AI/ML algorithm development.
- Preferred experience includes optimizing training and inference software for hardware utilization, latency, throughput, and cost.
- Strong engineering and mathematics foundation and the ability to understand and apply research techniques in production.

- Annual base salary ranges from $161,800-$184,600 in McLean, VA and $176,500-$201,400 in New York, NY and San Jose, CA; other locations use their applicable pay range.
- Eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and long-term incentives.
