Base Salary
$195k - $220k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize Scala-based trading services for high-volume, low-latency, 24/7 environments.
- Lead architectural strategy for future-state scalability and performance optimization.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote technical best practices.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, operations, and security teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
- Optimize JVM performance for Scala/Akka distributed systems.
- Enhance monitoring and observability for real-time trade execution and operational transparency.
- Support compliance with security policies, regulatory standards, and industry best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Extensive experience with high-performance, high-concurrency distributed trading systems.
- Proven expertise in JVM and performance tuning.
- Experience supporting 24/7 production systems, ideally in trading environments.
- Deep knowledge of HTTP/HTTPS, WebSockets, DNS, TCP/IP, and other networking protocols.
- Experience with Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills in high-pressure, real-time conditions.
- Excellent communication skills for explaining technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- Experience with functional programming languages in exchange or trading environments.
- Bonus: experience with low-latency lock-free development, multithreading, concurrency, binary or custom trading protocols, Kafka, RabbitMQ, UDP, TCP, HTTP, WebSockets, REST APIs, OAuth, gRPC, Redis APIs, order handling or matching engines, FIX, market data or order-entry protocols, Kubernetes, Docker, IP multicast, and market data feeds.
