Responsibilities
- Frame AI problems and move solutions from data exploration and experimentation through validation and production deployment.
- Design, develop, and evolve machine learning and computer vision solutions for product authentication, fraud detection, and digital product experiences.
- Evaluate foundation models, multimodal and vision-language models, embeddings, and generative AI approaches based on value, accuracy, limitations, latency, and cost.
- Build representative datasets, meaningful metrics, error analysis processes, and repeatable model validation practices.
- Productionize AI components with attention to scalability, latency, reliability, cost, model and version management, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, UX, Data, innovation teams, and external partners to deliver maintainable product features.
Requirements
- 4+ years of hands-on experience designing, developing, and deploying machine learning or deep learning solutions, ideally including computer vision and production AI systems.
- Strong Python skills and experience with PyTorch and/or TensorFlow, plus the ability to write maintainable and testable production code.
- Strong understanding of computer vision and deep learning techniques, including image classification, detection, embeddings, similarity, anomaly detection, or related visual recognition problems.
- Practical experience evaluating and applying foundation models, multimodal or vision-language models, or generative AI techniques.
- Strong data and experimentation skills, including dataset preparation, feature engineering, statistical reasoning, error analysis, and model evaluation.
- Familiarity with SQL and common data and machine learning libraries.
- Experience with MLOps and production AI practices such as experiment tracking, model versioning, containerization, cloud deployment, monitoring, and model performance or drift management.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, ability to explain complex AI concepts and make pragmatic technical trade-offs, and fluency in English.
- Italian language skills are a plus.
