Responsibilities
- Benchmark system performance and conduct database performance analysis.
- Troubleshoot and debug application and server errors.
- Recommend configuration tuning and optimizations for performance bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with core development, cloud, and security teams to enhance ClickHouse Cloud performance.
- Plan and drive chaos engineering initiatives across engineering teams.
- Develop and manage tools for chaos experiments and measure their impact.
- Study software resilience and operational challenges.
- Extend backend systems to enable chaos engineering techniques.
- Observe and prioritize innovative disruptions in running systems.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in software development and operating scalable distributed systems.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Go, C/C++, or Java.
- Experience with concurrency, multithreading, and distributed system architectures.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure services, preferably Kubernetes.
- Experience leading large technical projects in collaboration with engineers.
- Expertise with public cloud providers like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work across teams.
- Excellent problem-solving and production debugging skills.
- Passion for efficiency, availability, scalability, and data governance.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a strong sense of ownership.
