Responsibilities

  • Benchmark system performance and conduct database performance analysis.
  • Troubleshoot and debug application and server errors.
  • Recommend configuration tuning and optimizations for performance bottlenecks.
  • Collaborate with core development, cloud, and security teams to enhance ClickHouse Cloud performance.
  • Plan and drive chaos engineering initiatives across engineering teams.
  • Develop and manage tools for chaos experiments and measure their impact.
  • Study software resilience and operational challenges.
  • Extend backend systems to enable chaos engineering techniques.
  • Observe and prioritize innovative disruptions in running systems.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in software development and operating scalable distributed systems.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Go, C/C++, or Java.
  • Experience with concurrency, multithreading, and distributed system architectures.
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure services, preferably Kubernetes.
  • Experience leading large technical projects in collaboration with engineers.
  • Expertise with public cloud providers like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work across teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving and production debugging skills.
  • Passion for efficiency, availability, scalability, and data governance.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a strong sense of ownership.
