Responsibilities
- Build, deploy, and maintain performant distributed services and highly available APIs using Go, Java, and/or Python.
- Collaborate with engineers and product managers across cross-functional teams to align product and engineering goals.
- Write maintainable, observable, well-documented production code and participate in code reviews.
- Operate APIs and services by measuring performance, load testing, tuning alerts and dashboards, maintaining runbooks, and responding to incidents.
- Participate in a rapid-response on-call rotation for internal and external services.
- Use AI tooling responsibly throughout the software development lifecycle.
Requirements
- 6+ years of production software development experience, preferably with Python, Java, and/or Go.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as Computer Science or Geosciences, or equivalent practical experience.
- Knowledge of software engineering best practices, development methodologies, collaborative design processes, and code review.
- Familiarity with GCP or AWS, diverse data storage systems, Git, large codebases, complex CI/CD pipelines, Docker containers, and Kubernetes deployment.
- Strong teamwork, communication, analytical, problem-solving, and independent learning skills.
- Preferred: familiarity with geospatial concepts and standards, GeoTIFF, GeoJSON, STAC, remotely sensed products, associated metadata, and Grafana.
