Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and ship backend services and APIs for a real-time betting platform.
- Deliver work in small, independently shippable increments and validate changes in production.
- Own deployed services, including monitoring, alerting, deployment support, and occasional on-call responsibilities.
- Write clean, well-tested, and documented code; participate in code review and capture key technical decisions.
- Learn the MTS service ecosystem and grow toward making independent technical decisions and owning features end to end.
- Work with product managers and senior engineers to shape requirements into deliverable work.
- Use AI-assisted, spec-driven and agentic development workflows as part of daily engineering work.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of professional experience with Java, including Spring Boot, Hibernate, or similar modern frameworks, or another strong object-oriented language.
- Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals and clean, testable code.
- Understanding of automated unit, integration, and API testing using JUnit, Mockito, or similar tools.
- Comfort with CI/CD and collaborative Git workflows.
- Experience using AI-assisted, spec-driven development in day-to-day work beyond autocomplete.
- Willingness to operate production software, including deployment, monitoring, and on-call support.
- Preferred exposure to AWS, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, relational databases, NoSQL databases, gRPC, Protobuf, REST API design, event-driven systems, Terraform, GitOps, or observability tooling.
- Interest in betting, trading, or other real-time and high-throughput domains.
