Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and direction for shipping secure, reliable, well-tested, and maintainable code.
- Mentor and upskill engineers through code reviews, architectural decisions, and guidance on security, privacy, performance, and other non-functional concerns.
- Help set team direction and priorities, support stakeholders, and break down complex work effectively.
- Own end-to-end delivery from technical design and architecture through production deployment and support.
- Architect and deliver complex, scalable solutions across varied technical situations.
- Design and operate resilient, high-performance microservices and event-driven architectures.
- Champion software quality and establish processes to improve it over time.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of software engineering experience with a record of shipping and maintaining production software.
- At least 3 years of recent hands-on experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
- Strong knowledge of backend ecosystems, including SQL and NoSQL databases, messaging brokers, and common software design patterns.
- Proven AWS expertise across services such as ECS, Fargate, Lambda, EC2, DynamoDB, RDS, Aurora, SQS, SNS, and Kinesis.
- Hands-on experience translating business requirements into end-to-end technical designs covering APIs, data models, and infrastructure.
- Experience designing and operating scalable, resilient microservices and event-driven architectures.
- Deep knowledge of unit, integration, and end-to-end testing, including maintaining automated test suites integrated into CI/CD.
- Experience building secure services and applying observability and maintainability best practices.
- Experience using AI-powered tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, and ChatGPT to improve development productivity.
- Strong mentoring, communication, collaboration, and English-language verbal and written communication skills.
