Base Salary
$94k - $179k/yr
Responsibilities
- Write high-quality code for complex scenarios with strong test coverage.
- Translate product requirements into modular, configurable, reusable, scalable, secure, and maintainable distributed application designs.
- Lead design and code reviews across multiple applications.
- Lead sprint teams, resolve delivery impediments, and deliver new or improved features.
- Collaborate with teams and stakeholders to deliver intended functionality.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance while driving technical strategy and vision for the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 5 years of software programming experience, including at least 2 years with technologies used at Mercury.
- More than 1 year of experience leading and mentoring engineering teams.
- Preferred: 6+ years with Guidewire PolicyCenter configurations and integrations.
- Preferred: 4+ years with Java/J2EE and 2+ years with technologies such as Kafka, AWS, S3, Drools, and Blaze.
- Preferred: 2+ years with personal lines products and 1+ year with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GUnit.
- Proficiency with an industry-standard programming language, data structures, algorithms, design patterns, relational and NoSQL databases, caching, APIs, messaging, distributed systems, containers, and cloud platforms.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, influencing, mentoring, and technical leadership skills.
- A master’s degree in Computer Science and experience with AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure are preferred.
