Responsibilities
- Design, implement, maintain, and deploy components for complex distributed systems and large-scale web applications.
- Lead infrastructure migration projects from planning through execution, including setup, data replication, traffic management, and post-migration validation.
- Develop automation and cost-optimization strategies for the Boost program and reduce migration effort for service teams.
- Drive technical decisions involving pipeline infrastructure, DynamoDB replication, containerization, RDS, DocumentDB, and VFI builds.
- Optimize memory utilization and compute-resource allocations across service fleets.
- Build AI-assisted workflows to streamline migration operations.
- Lead root-cause analysis for high-severity incidents and implement preventive and operational improvements.
- Collaborate with service teams to identify and resolve migration blockers.
- Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and provide technical direction.
- Participate in on-call rotations and support critical migration activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree.
- At least three years of experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Experience automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure.
- Programming experience in at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, or Rust.
- Experience with Linux/Unix and CI/CD pipeline build processes.
- Experience tuning or optimizing compute resources.
- Preferred: three or more years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- Preferred: experience with distributed systems at scale and knowledge of networking, storage, and operating-system fundamentals.
