Responsibilities
- Design and build cloud-native, greenfield products and own complex features and services from design through deployment.
- Write clean, efficient, testable code and develop TypeScript applications using Node.js and React.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineering managers, engineers, and QA teammates to refine requirements and technical solutions.
- Design and build GraphQL and RESTful APIs within event-driven systems.
- Write unit, integration, and contract tests and champion automated testing and TDD practices.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deploy services to AWS using Terraform, Kubernetes, and GitHub Actions.
- Monitor service health and debug production issues using DataDog or similar observability tools.
- Take ownership of the performance, reliability, security, and maintainability of shipped software.
- Review code, share knowledge, mentor less experienced engineers, and help evolve engineering standards.
- Work in an Agile environment using Git, Jira, and Confluence.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of software development experience with a strong focus on TypeScript.
- Strong knowledge of JavaScript fundamentals, Node.js, and React.
- Experience building and running production systems in AWS, including EKS, Lambda, and RDS.
- Experience designing and building GraphQL and RESTful APIs.
- Practical knowledge of MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and Kafka.
- Experience working with event-driven architecture.
- Deep knowledge of automated testing with Jest and Pact and the principles of TDD.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Terraform.
- Experience using DataDog or a similar tool to monitor services and debug production issues.
- Experience working in Agile environments with Git, Jira, and Confluence.
- Strong ownership, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, analytical, and investigative skills.
