Responsibilities

Design and build cloud-native, greenfield products and own complex features and services from design through deployment.
Write clean, efficient, testable code and develop TypeScript applications using Node.js and React.
Collaborate with product managers, engineering managers, engineers, and QA teammates to refine requirements and technical solutions.
Design and build GraphQL and RESTful APIs within event-driven systems.
Write unit, integration, and contract tests and champion automated testing and TDD practices.
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deploy services to AWS using Terraform, Kubernetes, and GitHub Actions.
Monitor service health and debug production issues using DataDog or similar observability tools.
Take ownership of the performance, reliability, security, and maintainability of shipped software.
Review code, share knowledge, mentor less experienced engineers, and help evolve engineering standards.
Work in an Agile environment using Git, Jira, and Confluence.

At least 5 years of software development experience with a strong focus on TypeScript.
Strong knowledge of JavaScript fundamentals, Node.js, and React.
Experience building and running production systems in AWS, including EKS, Lambda, and RDS.
Experience designing and building GraphQL and RESTful APIs.
Practical knowledge of MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and Kafka.
Experience working with event-driven architecture.
Deep knowledge of automated testing with Jest and Pact and the principles of TDD.
Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Terraform.
Experience using DataDog or a similar tool to monitor services and debug production issues.
Experience working in Agile environments with Git, Jira, and Confluence.
Strong ownership, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, analytical, and investigative skills.
