Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test, deploy, and maintain complex features and services.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and QA partners to refine requirements and technical solutions.
- Write unit, integration, and contract tests and champion automated testing practices.
- Build, deploy, and monitor AWS services using Terraform, Kubernetes, and GitHub Actions.
- Own the health, performance, reliability, and maintainability of shipped software.
- Use DataDog for observability, service monitoring, and production debugging.
- Review code, share knowledge, mentor less experienced engineers, and improve engineering standards.
- Work with Git, Jira, and Confluence in an Agile, collaborative environment.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of software development experience with a strong focus on TypeScript.
- Strong TypeScript and JavaScript fundamentals, including Node.js and React.
- Experience building and operating production systems in AWS, including EKS, Lambda, and RDS.
- Experience designing and building GraphQL and RESTful APIs.
- Practical knowledge of MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Kafka, and event-driven architecture.
- Deep knowledge of automated testing with Jest and Pact and understanding of TDD principles.
- Experience maintaining CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and Terraform.
- Experience using DataDog or a similar observability tool to monitor services and debug production issues.
- Experience working in Agile environments with Git, Jira, and Confluence.
- Strong ownership, analytical problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills.
