Responsibilities
- Build and maintain production-grade Python applications and integrations for critical business workflows.
- Own and improve Python ETL frameworks, Airflow DAGs, and orchestration patterns.
- Integrate internal and external systems, including Snowflake, DynamoDB, CRM platforms, ecommerce platforms, and third-party APIs.
- Improve workflow observability, reliability, testing, deployment, maintainability, and data quality.
- Modernize legacy ETLs through refactoring, reusable libraries, and appropriate AI-assisted development.
- Define Python architecture standards and engineering practices for data platform work.
- Mentor engineers, partner with analysts and data professionals, and translate ambiguous business needs into durable technical solutions.
Requirements
- 6–9 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong hands-on expertise building and maintaining Python applications in critical production environments.
- Experience with data-driven applications, ETL workflows, data pipelines, or platform integrations.
- Deep understanding of Python application structure, testing, packaging, error handling, observability, and maintainability.
- Strong proficiency with SQL and relational data modeling concepts.
- Experience working in Agile software development environments.
- Ability to operate independently on complex problems, mentor engineers, influence stakeholders, and communicate technical tradeoffs.
- Preferred: experience with Snowflake or comparable cloud data warehouses, familiarity with Airflow or other orchestration tools, knowledge of modern data architecture and data quality frameworks, and experience using AI-assisted development workflows.
