Responsibilities

  • Design and develop new Android mobile software and web applications for Comcast connected-home products.
  • Write, clean, maintain, and troubleshoot Kotlin and Java code for Android applications and libraries.
  • Develop scalable and testable UI architecture using MVVM, Jetpack Compose, and core Android components.
  • Build API integrations, GraphQL schemas, database storage and retrieval, and multithreaded application functionality.
  • Perform unit testing, UI design, application integration, release support, and software update rollouts.
  • Build CI/CD pipelines and use Git for version control.
  • Lead technical architecture discussions and influence the Xfinity Android application architecture.
  • Document software designs, evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals, recommendations, and development activity.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and Quality Assurance to identify requirements, integration needs, and specification compliance.
  • Monitor competitive applications and relevant technical literature, patents, and practices.
  • Guide and mentor junior-level engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Five years of experience developing Android applications using Kotlin and Android SDK.
  • Experience with MVVM, Activity, Fragment, ViewModel, LiveData, StateFlow, WorkManager, DataStorage, Navigation Component, Dagger, Hilt, Anvil, Flows, Jetpack Compose, Services, and Broadcast Receivers.
  • At least three years of experience developing Android applications using Java, Coroutines, and CoroutineWorker.
  • Experience with memory management and multithreading error correction.
  • Experience consuming APIs using Retrofit or OkHttp and performing GraphQL queries.
  • Experience with unit testing using JUnit, Mockito, and Robolectric.
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Jenkins.
  • Experience with Android Studio, SQLite, Git, and software development in an Agile environment.
