Responsibilities
- Build substantial interactive features in an existing enterprise product without disrupting surrounding workflows.
- Implement accurate data visualizations including charts, comparison tables, and range indicators.
- Build real-time filtering and comparison controls with loading, error, empty, and insufficient-data states.
- Develop and extend Ruby on Rails APIs, data models, and services, and consume architecture-team APIs.
- Collaborate closely with designers and product managers to implement intended experiences accurately.
- Ensure features load asynchronously, remain performant, and support accessibility and cross-browser consistency.
- Instrument features to measure usage and write automated tests covering standard and degraded cases.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience building production web applications with significant frontend ownership and hands-on backend development.
- Strong Ruby on Rails experience developing and modifying APIs, data models, and services.
- Strong proficiency with React, Angular, or Vue and solid JavaScript or TypeScript fundamentals, including rendering and state management.
- Experience building data-dense interfaces such as charts, tables, dashboards, or comparison views where presentation accuracy matters.
- Experience working in large existing codebases and avoiding regressions.
- Demonstrated attention to edge cases, empty states, and error handling supported by automated tests such as RSpec and frontend testing frameworks.
- Strong collaboration skills with designers and product managers, including clarifying requirements before implementation.
- Working proficiency with AI coding tools such as Claude or GitHub Copilot, including reviewing and validating generated code.
