Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain consumer-facing web applications for product discovery, search, recommendations, personalization, and engagement.
- Lead the technical design and delivery of complex frontend features and user journeys with attention to quality, performance, accessibility, and maintainability.
- Integrate GenAI, recommendation, personalization, and search capabilities into consumer-facing applications in partnership with AI/ML, data, and backend engineers.
- Build and optimize search, discovery, and conversational experiences.
- Develop reusable UI components, frontend frameworks, and integration layers using React, TypeScript, and other modern web technologies.
- Contribute to backend APIs and services supporting frontend experiences and business workflows.
- Improve application performance, reliability, observability, security, and user experience.
- Mentor engineers, participate in design and code reviews, and promote frontend engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with product, design, engineering, data, and external technology partners.
- Use AI-assisted engineering tools and practices to improve productivity, code quality, and delivery effectiveness.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience designing, building, and operating modern web applications and digital consumer experiences.
- Strong expertise in React, TypeScript, JavaScript, component-based architecture, and modern frontend engineering practices.
- Experience building scalable, responsive, high-performing web applications with strong usability, accessibility, and user experience.
- Hands-on experience integrating frontend applications with REST APIs, microservices, and backend platforms.
- Good understanding of Java, Spring Boot, API design, and microservices architecture.
- Experience building search and discovery experiences using technologies such as Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, Azure AI Search, or similar platforms.
- Experience with cloud-native applications and development platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Strong understanding of application performance optimization, observability, security, and operational excellence.
- Experience collaborating across engineering, product, design, data, and AI teams on customer-facing solutions.
- Experience leading technical initiatives, mentoring engineers, and driving frontend engineering best practices.
- Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases, Redis, caching technologies, and event-driven architectures is desirable.
- Exposure to AI/ML, Generative AI, LLMs, conversational experiences, or AI-powered consumer products is highly desirable.
