Responsibilities
- Maintain and expand in-house software for experiment and instrument control.
- Assist with the characterisation and validation of quantum dots for quantum computing applications.
- Contribute to the design of scalable quantum dot-based quantum circuits.
- Work with hardware experts to understand requirements, scope features, and develop new functionality.
- Improve existing software libraries through refactoring, testing, and documentation.
- Track feature requests, issues, and bugs through resolution.
- Support best practices for software repositories used by measurement and analysis teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related discipline.
- At least one year of industry experience as a Python developer.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and core software design principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities for complex systems.
- Familiarity with Git, version control, and modern software development practices.
- Desire to work closely with end users in technical or experimental environments.
- Collaborative communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently toward defined goals.
- Desirable: background in physical science or engineering, experience with Python scientific and numerical libraries, knowledge of C, C++, Rust, MATLAB, or similar languages, familiarity with software validation and testing, and experience preparing technical reports and presentations.
