Responsibilities
- Architect robust backend abstractions that translate region-specific identity requirements into unified services.
- Lead the design and execution of new capabilities for increasingly complex identity verification journeys.
- Design resilient integrations with external identity providers for reliable and secure data verification.
- Partner with downstream engineering teams including Play, Cloud, and Google Pay to integrate identity verification infrastructure into user journeys.
- Drive improvements across the Identity Verification platform and own engineering metrics including pass rates and verification duration.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 1 year of software development experience in one or more programming languages such as Python, C, C++, Java, or JavaScript.
- Experience working with cross-functional partners such as User Experience and Product to refine feature ideas into engineering tasks and drive progress.
- Experience developing accessible technologies.
- Knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
