Responsibilities
- Lead security architecture strategy across the AWS-based CXone platform, hosted products, and legacy products.
- Drive cross-CX security initiatives such as secrets management from discovery through adoption across teams the role does not manage.
- Strengthen the secure SDLC by defining security processes, gates, guidelines, and ownership workflows for security findings.
- Advise engineering teams, security champions, and product managers on complex security questions and translate regulatory and customer requirements into engineering requirements.
- Support security incident analysis and response from the architecture perspective and provide backup for the security architecture lead.
- Define approaches for securing AI-assisted development and AI/LLM product capabilities.
- Own architecture for cross-CX projects spanning multiple products and teams.
- Translate broad requirements from enterprise and regulated customers into high-level designs that engineering and DevOps teams can estimate and deliver.
- Contribute to architecture reviews, ADRs, and suite-wide standards for resiliency, multi-tenancy, observability, and integration patterns.
- Champion AI-first engineering by using AI coding agents and helping teams adopt them.
- Guide architects and engineers toward appropriate technical paths and drive multi-team initiatives through influence.
Requirements
- 14+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years as a software or solutions architect for large-scale, distributed, cloud-based systems.
- Strong knowledge of securing production systems on AWS, including IAM, access design, network security, encryption, KMS, secrets management, and security posture management.
- Strong secure SDLC experience, including threat modeling, security design reviews, SAST, SCA, DAST, CI/CD security gates, vulnerability management, and remediation SLAs.
- Strong architecture and hands-on AWS experience with multi-tenant SaaS, microservices, event-driven systems, APIs, integration patterns, resiliency, Kubernetes, serverless systems, and legacy monoliths.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multi-team initiatives through influence, with clear ownership, follow-through, independence, and self-sufficiency.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills across engineering teams, senior management, and customers.
- Daily experience using AI assistants and agents such as GitHub Copilot or Claude.
- Preferred experience includes compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, PCI DSS, FedRAMP, IRAP, C5, IRS Publication 1075, or CIS Benchmarks.
- Preferred hands-on experience with AppSec tools such as Aikido, Orca, Veracode, or GitHub Advanced Security.
- Preferred experience running security champions programs, securing LLM-based features and agentic workflows, leading threat modeling and security design reviews, or working in penetration testing/offensive security.
- Preferred certifications include AWS Certified Security – Specialty, CISSP, CCSP, or OSCP.
- Preferred experience with CloudFormation, Terraform, contact center platforms, or real-time communications platforms.
