Responsibilities
- Analyze technical and operational requirements for integrating external services with a central monitoring platform.
- Design and implement REST API integrations, data collectors, adapters, and interface scripts.
- Define interface specifications, data-exchange formats, and error-handling mechanisms.
- Deploy and configure monitoring and ingestion components and maintain development, reference, and operational environments.
- Validate measurements and data transfers, and automate deployments, testing, and release activities.
- Coordinate technical releases and support production handover.
- Monitor integration components, troubleshoot operational issues, investigate incidents, and perform root-cause analysis.
- Implement approved interface and ingestion-logic changes while meeting security, configuration-management, and operational requirements.
- Create and maintain architecture, interface, deployment, and operating documentation.
- Collaborate with platform teams, service owners, consortium partners, and knowledge-transfer teams.
Requirements
- A university degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in system integration, platform engineering, DevOps, or backend software engineering.
- Strong programming or scripting skills, preferably in Python.
- Experience designing and integrating REST APIs or comparable machine-to-machine interfaces.
- Good knowledge of Linux environments and practical experience with containers, preferably Docker.
- Experience with automated deployments and release activities.
- Experience with structured data formats such as JSON and XML.
- Understanding of authentication, certificates, access control, and secure interface design.
- Professional working proficiency in English.
- Additional experience with Kubernetes, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Elasticsearch, message queues, event-streaming platforms, cloud or private-cloud infrastructure, time-series databases, infrastructure-as-code, configuration-management tools, Earth Observation, satellite ground-segment or scientific-data systems, and formal release or change-management processes is advantageous.
