Responsibilities
- Lead projects or systems by coordinating the activities of other engineers.
- Determine the technical tasks that other engineers will follow.
- Improve existing engineering structures and processes.
- Reconcile competing priorities involving time, quality, complexity, and risk to identify effective solutions.
- Recognize patterns and consolidate repeated work into generalized solutions.
- Collaborate with management to establish and improve engineering rigor standards.
- Represent PayPal in interactions with partners, customers, and industry organizations.
Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to make technical decisions and lead engineering work across projects or systems.
- Ability to balance competing priorities and solve complex problems.
- Ability to collaborate with management and represent the company externally.
Benefits
- Expected base pay is $176,500.00-$262,350.00 annually in San Jose, California, or $160,500.00-$238,700.00 annually in Austin, Texas; additional performance bonus, equity, or other incentives may apply.
- Balanced hybrid work model generally includes 3 days in the office and 2 days at the PayPal office or home workspace.
