Responsibilities
- Lead security onboarding and assurance for region-specific cloud services and design scalable mechanisms for operational readiness.
- Engineer and automate security-control validation for cloud services and data-transfer pathways.
- Review technical designs, architectures, code, configurations, documentation, and structured data schemas.
- Translate security requirements into technical baselines, control objectives, implementation patterns, and measurable acceptance criteria aligned with Australian security frameworks.
- Develop reusable security tooling, automated evidence collection, and reporting mechanisms for AWS environments.
- Investigate security events and non-conformance, determine root causes, and implement durable corrective solutions through automation.
- Collaborate with global AWS service teams and customers, maintain security documentation, manage feature requests, and participate in the on-call rotation.
Requirements
- Applicants must be Australian citizens and hold or be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance and successfully complete an Organisational Suitability Assessment.
- At least 3 years of IT security experience is required.
- Experience with scripting, programming, and security code reviewing in a common programming language, excluding internship experience.
- Experience troubleshooting system issues, analyzing logs, or automating basic tasks with command-line tools, excluding internship experience.
- Knowledge of industry and system security vulnerabilities, remediation techniques, penetration testing, and exploit development or equivalent.
- Preferred experience includes threat modeling, secure coding, identity management and authentication, software development, cryptography, system administration, and network security.
- Preferred experience includes security activities across the software development lifecycle, such as security design review, threat modeling, secure code review, and security testing.
- Preferred programming experience includes Python, Java, or C++.
