Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain avionics and flight-system software.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop, verify, and validate safety-critical, real-time embedded software for launch vehicle systems.
- Participate in requirements analysis, implementation, verification, documentation, and system integration across the software lifecycle.
- Write and review code primarily in C, C++, and Python for embedded and application environments.
- Create and maintain tools and infrastructure supporting build, debugging, testing, deployment, and automation.
- Review and update software requirements and designs for testability and verifiability.
- Ensure reliability, quality, and safety in delivered software.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted refugee or asylee.
- Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program with at least one semester or quarter remaining after the internship.
- Must have completed at least one year of full-time post-high-school coursework and have sophomore standing at application time.
- Must be available to work full time for at least 15 weeks without concurrent coursework.
- Programming experience in at least one of C, C++, or Python.
- Experience through coursework, co-ops, internships, or projects in software development, problem solving, and debugging.
- Exposure to software verification, test planning or execution, automated testing, CI/CD, ARINC standards, or UML/software design.
- Strong written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Relevant internship, co-op, academic project, hands-on project, or extracurricular experience demonstrating technical and leadership skills.
