Base Salary

$100k - $193k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design and build production-grade LLM applications, RAG solutions, and tool-using AI agents for forecasting, planning, scheduling, and order fulfillment.
  • Build retrieval pipelines involving ingestion, chunking, embeddings, hybrid search, reranking, grounding, and citations.
  • Develop maintainable Python services, APIs, and reusable AI components, and deploy and operate them in production.
  • Create evaluation datasets and automated tests measuring task success, groundedness, safety, latency, and cost.
  • Monitor production systems for drift, failures, cost anomalies, and model or agent behavior issues.
  • Apply responsible AI, security, governance, human oversight, and adversarial testing controls throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Partner with Product, Software Engineering, Data Science, Data Engineering, planners, schedulers, and other end users to move solutions from concept to production.
  • Evaluate emerging AI technologies and establish reusable patterns based on measurable business value, quality, and cost.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in software engineering, ML engineering, or applied AI.
  • Hands-on experience with Python, SQL, and building or deploying LLM or agent-based applications, including prompt engineering, fine-tuning, RAG, or relevant frameworks.
  • Experience developing maintainable production services and APIs, with knowledge of automated testing, Git workflows, code reviews, CI/CD, and containerization.
  • Experience defining measurable quality criteria and evaluating AI or ML systems using quantitative metrics and structured human review.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with software engineering teams and business users to move solutions from concept to production.
  • Demonstrated experience engaging directly with end users to shape and validate AI solutions.
  • Ability to translate ambiguous business problems into technical solutions and interpret results for non-technical partners.
  • Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree or PhD, expertise in LLM application architectures and retrieval pipelines, agent orchestration and human-in-the-loop controls, production LLM or agent operations, AI observability, security and adversarial testing, cloud deployment with GCP preferred, vector databases, model hosting, and automotive, dealer, or supply-chain knowledge.
