Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve production issues across COBOL, DB2, CICS, Java/Spring services, and GCP Cloud Run microservices.
- Design and operate least-privilege, per-call-audited MCP servers integrating with DB2, Splunk, and GCP while handling provenance and PII.
- Build production multi-agent workflows with Google ADK, including SequentialAgent and LoopAgent compositions, escalation containment, and originations-debugging workflows.
- Own the loan-originations ontology, knowledge graph, hybrid vector and graph retrieval, and auditable RAG responses.
- Build deterministic Java/Kotlin and Spring Boot backend services for audit envelopes, provenance storage, and human-in-the-loop review.
- Create ADRs, business-logic documents, skill files, Splunk saved-search catalogs, and other documentation required for completed changes.
- Create evaluation systems and runners for AI tools and agents, including automated test generation, evaluation, grading, coverage, and quality measurement.
- Track and publish monthly improvements in agent autonomy and the types of changes made cheaper.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 7 years building and operating production-grade backend systems as a hands-on engineer.
- At least 5 years of experience with Python and Java; Kotlin and TypeScript are a plus.
- At least 1 year shipping AI-enabled applications in production, including agent frameworks, retrieval systems, or LLM-backed services.
- Experience with Google ADK, LangGraph, LangChain, or a comparable agent orchestration framework.
- Practical experience implementing MCP tool integrations, agent communication patterns, and AI observability.
- Experience with vector search, hybrid retrieval, knowledge graphs, or GraphRAG.
- Strong backend fundamentals including Spring Boot, relational database query and schema design, REST/OpenAPI, TDD, and modern CI/CD.
- Production experience with Google Cloud Platform, including Vertex AI, Cloud Run, and BigQuery, or an equivalent cloud.
- Experience operating in complex, multi-tier, legacy-integrated environments where change control and auditability matter.
- Preferred experience with semantic technologies, ontology engineering, Neo4j, Neptune, mainframe systems, Splunk SPL, event-driven architectures, Pub/Sub, Kafka, Docker, or Kubernetes.
