Responsibilities

  • Manage the monitoring system and serve as the primary escalation point for error messages and failed jobs.
  • Trace issues to their sources, identify bugs, write fixes, and resolve production problems directly.
  • Investigate recurring pipeline issues and improve system stability, efficiency, and performance.
  • Optimize ML models and GPU workloads for faster and more efficient execution.
  • Contribute to full-cycle development, including research, coding, testing, deployment, upgrades, rollouts, and rollbacks.
  • Provide direct support to end users and troubleshoot research and trading system issues.
  • Maintain reliable production operations and respond during trading hours when needed.

Requirements

  • At least 2-5+ years of experience in production engineering or trade support, including experience solving problems with code in a live trading environment.
  • Strong software development skills in Python and C++ for building efficient, modular, and reliable systems.
  • Strong production engineering skills in Linux and Bash, including scripting, troubleshooting, monitoring, and operating real-time systems.
  • Hands-on debugging ability with a focus on resolving issues rather than forwarding them to others.
  • Ability to work autonomously and handle high-stakes situations where downtime has significant consequences.
  • Reliable availability and responsiveness to support production systems during trading hours when needed.
  • Strong learning ability, intellectual curiosity, versatility, originality, pragmatic judgment, and communication skills.
  • Ability to reason through quantitative problems and communicate effectively with quantitative researchers and engineers.
  • Preferred experience with neural networks and optimizing ML or GPU workloads.
  • Preferred experience with CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, containerization, and observability tooling.
  • Two or more years of experience with industrial-grade Python and C++ codebases is preferred.
  • Familiarity with distributed large-scale systems is preferred.
