Responsibilities
- Manage the monitoring system and serve as the primary escalation point for error messages and failed jobs.
- Trace issues to their sources, identify bugs, write fixes, and resolve production problems directly.
- Investigate recurring pipeline issues and improve system stability, efficiency, and performance.
- Optimize ML models and GPU workloads for faster and more efficient execution.
- Contribute to full-cycle development, including research, coding, testing, deployment, upgrades, rollouts, and rollbacks.
- Provide direct support to end users and troubleshoot research and trading system issues.
- Maintain reliable production operations and respond during trading hours when needed.
Requirements
- At least 2-5+ years of experience in production engineering or trade support, including experience solving problems with code in a live trading environment.
- Strong software development skills in Python and C++ for building efficient, modular, and reliable systems.
- Strong production engineering skills in Linux and Bash, including scripting, troubleshooting, monitoring, and operating real-time systems.
- Hands-on debugging ability with a focus on resolving issues rather than forwarding them to others.
- Ability to work autonomously and handle high-stakes situations where downtime has significant consequences.
- Reliable availability and responsiveness to support production systems during trading hours when needed.
- Strong learning ability, intellectual curiosity, versatility, originality, pragmatic judgment, and communication skills.
- Ability to reason through quantitative problems and communicate effectively with quantitative researchers and engineers.
- Preferred experience with neural networks and optimizing ML or GPU workloads.
- Preferred experience with CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, containerization, and observability tooling.
- Two or more years of experience with industrial-grade Python and C++ codebases is preferred.
- Familiarity with distributed large-scale systems is preferred.
