Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve Bridge’s mission-critical Ruby on Rails monolith.
- Diagnose and resolve critical issues in a complex, undocumented production system.
- Develop Java or Kotlin Spring Boot REST APIs.
- Ensure new Ruby and Kotlin features integrate seamlessly across the platform.
- Understand system architecture and connect legacy application logic with modern services.
- Contribute to company-wide technical decisions and support teammates in a collaborative engineering culture.
Requirements
- Senior-level experience working with Ruby on Rails and Java or Kotlin-based backend systems.
- Experience with Spring Boot, REST API development, and PostgreSQL.
- Ability to navigate complex or undocumented codebases and handle production crises independently.
- Broad, polyglot technology experience with the ability to evaluate technology trade-offs.
- Strong high-level architectural and conceptual thinking.
- Direct communication style and comfort with constructive technical debate.
