Responsibilities
- Design platform solutions that support multiple teams and create seamless user experiences.
- Lead technical architecture and coordinate among product leadership, engineering leadership, and technical workstreams.
- Solve complex engineering problems involving large-scale, fault-tolerant distributed systems.
- Own projects by identifying business problems, scoping technical solutions, and driving implementation.
- Lead and mentor engineers across the Travel organization.
- Develop deep expertise in Rippling’s corporate travel product and the treasury and money-movement domain.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong backend development and distributed-systems experience.
- Proven ability to design large-scale, fault-tolerant systems from scratch and evaluate consistency and availability trade-offs.
- Deep proficiency in a modern backend language such as Python, Go, or Java.
- Experience with complex SQL and NoSQL data modeling.
- Ability to work independently in ambiguous environments and execute from business-problem definition through technical delivery.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to engineering and non-engineering audiences.
- Intellectual curiosity and ability to quickly learn complex treasury and money-movement domains.
