Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and operate secure, scalable, reliable, and performant data infrastructure for Venmo teams.
- Automate provisioning, management, and monitoring for supported data infrastructure.
- Build scalable data pipeline architectures and message-streaming solutions using AWS SQS, Apache Kafka, and related technologies.
- Build tools and large data sets that support actionable insights, operational efficiency, and business performance.
- Process, extract, and manage relational and NoSQL databases and systems, including SQL query authoring.
- Partner with product, engineering, analytics, infrastructure, and executive stakeholders to resolve data and performance issues.
- Implement software-development lifecycle tasks, collaborate on technical designs, and contribute to code and design reviews.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent qualifications.
- At least 3 years of experience in software development or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience operating global-scale, high-throughput AWS-native data pipelines.
- Hands-on experience designing infrastructure for global-scale services and working with AWS IaaS and PaaS solutions.
- Experience with Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Python, Java, Lambda, AWS S3, AWS DMS, AWS EKS, Apache Spark, AWS Glue, AWS SQS, and Apache Kafka.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems and communicate technical issues effectively to nontechnical audiences.
- AWS Solutions Architect certification or experience is preferred.
Benefits
- Pay range is $130,500–$193,600 annually in Austin and $143,500–$212,850 annually in San Jose, excluding additional bonus or equity compensation.
- Balanced hybrid work model generally includes 3 days in the office and 2 days in the office or home workspace.
