Base Salary
$41 - $47.5/yr
Responsibilities
- Write and maintain Python test automation for firmware and hardware validation using pytest and internal test frameworks.
- Develop drivers and tooling for programmable power supplies, electronic loads, data acquisition, and switching hardware.
- Help bring up new test stands, including fixtures, wiring, and sequencing software.
- Investigate equipment failures using CAN traces, instrument logs, and bench tools.
- Add regression coverage to CI pipelines so firmware changes are validated automatically.
- Contribute to documentation and processes for moving test systems from prototype to production.
- Own a scoped project end to end and present the results to the engineering team at the end of the internship.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Working proficiency in Python, including the ability to read and modify an unfamiliar codebase.
- Experience writing automated tests with pytest or a comparable framework through coursework, projects, or prior internships.
- Experience with Git and pull-request-based development workflows.
- Solid understanding of circuit fundamentals, including voltage, current, resistance, and power.
- Ability to read and act on schematics, wiring diagrams, or datasheets.
- Hands-on experience safely working around energized equipment such as power supplies, electronic loads, or battery hardware.
- Familiarity with CAN, Modbus, SCPI, or other instrument and industrial protocols is preferred.
- Familiarity with the Linux command line is preferred.
- Safety-conscious mindset, strong attention to detail, and eagerness to learn; prior industry or energy storage experience is not required.
