Base Salary
$160k - $220k/yr
Responsibilities
- Drive the company mission to improve healthcare through modern technology and AI.
- Lead AI projects from ideation and architecture through production, iteration, and feature adoption.
- Develop and deploy real-time AI systems for speech and natural language understanding, including transcription, summarization, and classification.
- Build robust model and prompt pipelines for LLM-powered workflows with high accuracy and monitoring standards.
- Partner with Product and Engineering to identify high-leverage AI opportunities and deliver measurable outcomes.
- Help develop the strategic AI roadmap across speech, NLP, and core automation workflows.
- Apply AI to clinical documentation, customer support, billing, and internal operational workflows.
- Develop a deep understanding of the product, customers, and rehab therapy business.
- Help grow and lead the AI team by training and developing junior team members.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience building AI/ML systems in industry or academia with meaningful production ownership.
- Strong experience building and evaluating NLP and/or LLM systems, including retrieval, summarization, classification, extraction, or agent workflows.
- Production or near-real-time experience with speech pipelines such as speech-to-text, spoken intent classification, or conversational AI.
- Experience benchmarking and improving system accuracy, cost, and latency.
- Strong Python experience, including Python versions above 3.9.
- Basic Docker experience.
- AWS familiarity, including S3, RDS, and EC2, is preferred.
- Experience optimizing real-time speech processing systems, evaluating STT engines, integrating TTS and voice pipelines, or developing IVR applications is a nice-to-have.
- Experience with CPaaS platforms such as Twilio, ML/LLM evaluation pipelines, recommendation or automation systems, and workflow orchestration is a nice-to-have.
- Familiarity with FastAPI, Pydantic, SQLAlchemy, and PostgreSQL is a nice-to-have.
- Healthcare software or data processing pipeline experience is a nice-to-have.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders are required.
- Interest in learning the healthcare sector, particularly physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy, is expected.
- Applicants should be interested in a heavy code contribution role; this is not an engineering management position.
