Responsibilities

  • Create and enhance complex, business-critical data pipelines using data processing tools and automation.
  • Expand deep learning and LLM-powered extraction of clinical insights from global datasets.
  • Develop creative technical and business solutions that help the team scale.
  • Contribute to team roadmaps and technology direction.
  • Collaborate with international software engineering teams and healthcare, product, science, and customer stakeholders.
  • Help build European engineering teams and company culture.
  • Rapidly iterate on products while maintaining quality and security practices.
  • Develop knowledge of healthcare in Germany, including data sources, security, privacy, information governance, and emerging trends.

Requirements

  • 4–8 years of relevant professional experience as a data engineer.
  • Experience with object-oriented programming languages such as Python, C#, and SQL, with willingness to learn additional languages.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and data warehouse solutions such as Snowflake.
  • Experience with data processing and orchestration tools such as Databricks, Spark, Ray, DBT, Prefect, and/or Airflow.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and explain technical concepts to sophisticated non-technical audiences.
  • Fluent English is required.
  • Healthcare experience in Germany or exposure to healthcare standards such as HL7 is optional.
  • A bachelor's, master's, or Ph.D. in computer science or a related field is optional.
  • Experience in infrastructure, DevOps, or security engineering and conversational German are optional.
