Staff Software Engineer, Full Stack (Enabling Plan and Benefits Data)

Responsibilities
- Own and evolve data pipelines that ingest provider, benefit, and pricing data into Snowflake and deliver it to third-party consumers via SFTP.
- Design and maintain third-party integrations while handling schema drift, malformed data, and partner-specific data quirks.
- Build internal self-service tools that automate high-volume operational workflows such as pricing adjustments.
- Process and reconcile large volumes of provider data with attention to quality, lineage, and auditability.
- Set technical direction for data infrastructure and integration patterns, including event-driven pipelines, CDC, and workflow orchestration where appropriate.
- Improve data pipeline reliability, observability, and testing standards.
- Review designs, pair on difficult problems, unblock engineers, mentor teammates, and raise the technical bar.
- Partner with product, operations, and pricing stakeholders to turn ambiguous needs into durable technical systems.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience owning data-intensive production systems.
- Deep experience building and operating data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and delivery; Snowflake experience is strongly preferred.
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining third-party integrations with unreliable or inconsistent external data.
- Experience building internal tools or platforms that automate operational workflows for non-engineering teams.
- Strong fundamentals in distributed systems, data modeling, and modern data-processing architecture.
- Demonstrated technical leadership through direction-setting, unblocking others, and influence without direct authority.
- Ability to turn ambiguous operational problems into well-scoped technical solutions and communicate architecture tradeoffs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Fluent, disciplined use of AI-assisted tooling with verification of correctness, security, and quality before release.
- Healthcare data experience and familiarity with Airflow, dbt, or Step Functions are preferred.
- Must be based in California, Oregon, or Washington.
