Base Salary

$80k - $120k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Build the retrieval layer for an ecommerce search engine, including dense and sparse retrieval models and query understanding.
  • Develop end-to-end visual and multimodal search solutions such as image search, shop-the-look, and visual recommendations.
  • Own deep learning models as a platform for use by other teams.
  • Experiment with new model architectures and approaches, run live A/B tests, and deliver measurable business impact.
  • Develop ground-truth measurement approaches for identifying missed products in search results.
  • Own models end to end from problem framing through rollout.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience shipping production machine learning systems.
  • Experience with search, information retrieval, or recommendation systems.
  • Hands-on experience training, fine-tuning, and evaluating transformer models.
  • Strong Python and PyTorch skills.
  • Fluency with Spark and Airflow.
  • Experience owning a model end to end from problem framing to rollout.
  • Experience designing and running A/B tests to validate model impact.
  • Excellent English communication skills.
