Responsibilities
- Craft, implement, debug, and validate firmware features on reference hardware and software, pre-silicon emulation, and simulation environments.
- Develop x86 firmware using C.
- Design, build, and implement embedded firmware and BootROM/HW.
- Debug firmware-hardware boundary issues using waveform-level analysis.
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and project planning.
- Create clear documentation for produced software and work across internal and external platforms.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Canada-based bachelor's degree program majoring in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Knowledge or experience with low-level BIOS, firmware, or system software development is encouraged.
- Knowledge of C or C++ and hardware architectures is encouraged.
- Knowledge of embedded systems, RTOS, and embedded controller structures is encouraged.
- Familiarity with source control, debuggers, compilers, and system-wide debugging from software through firmware to hardware is encouraged.
- Knowledge of open-source concepts, VHDL, Verilog, FPGA, and general hardware design concepts is encouraged.
- Experience with Linux development environments and graphics or compute pipelines is encouraged.
- Familiarity with Perforce, JIRA, Git, or similar tools is encouraged.
