Base Salary
$142k - $213k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and ship AI/ML features across data preparation, training or fine-tuning, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.
- Build GenAI systems using RAG pipelines, LLM APIs, open-source models, prompt design, and agentic workflows.
- Develop data pipelines, labeling workflows, and rigorous model evaluation frameworks.
- Apply AI to manufacturing, computer vision quality inspection, predictive maintenance, sensor data, supply chain, forecasting, inventory planning, supplier risk, and logistics problems.
- Own features end-to-end, iterate using production feedback, and collaborate with Vehicle Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operations stakeholders.
- Write production-quality code, run experiments, and translate business and operational requirements into measurable AI systems.
Requirements
- BS in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is required.
- A PhD in a relevant field is a strong foundation for early-career candidates; an MS or PhD is preferred.
- Candidates without a PhD should bring 3+ years of professional or research experience working directly on ML systems.
- Understanding of model training, loss functions, evaluation metrics, overfitting, and regularization.
- Practical experience with supervised learning, NLP, computer vision, and time-series modeling.
- Familiarity with LLM APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Gemini, plus basic exposure to RAG, embeddings, or retrieval systems.
- Ability to evaluate model quality rigorously and write production-quality code beyond notebooks.
- Python proficiency and familiarity with PyTorch or JAX, Hugging Face, pandas, scikit-learn, cloud platforms, version control, experiment tracking, and basic MLOps practices.
- Interest or experience in manufacturing, robotics, logistics, industrial data, physical systems, supply chain, simulation environments, or physical hardware is preferred.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, including the ability to explain technical decisions to nontechnical stakeholders and work directly with stakeholders without a product manager.
