Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of complex enterprise-scale applications across front-end, back-end, integration, and data layers.
- Define engineering standards, coding practices, architectural principles, and technology implementation approaches.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support APIs, microservices, event-driven solutions, and cloud-native applications.
- Ensure software scalability, security, resilience, maintainability, observability, monitoring, performance, and operational stability.
- Participate in PI Planning, Sprint Planning, reviews, retrospectives, backlog refinement, estimation, and execution.
- Champion DevSecOps, CI/CD, automated testing, Infrastructure as Code, software quality, security, and delivery efficiency.
- Partner with product owners, scrum masters, solution architects, technical leads, business stakeholders, and technology stakeholders.
- Communicate technical solutions and delivery risks and contribute to governance forums and technical design reviews.
- Mentor engineers, provide technical coaching, and support engineering capability development and adoption of emerging technologies.
- Manage and mitigate risks and strengthen controls related to the team’s work.
Requirements
- Extensive full-stack software engineering experience in complex enterprise environments.
- Strong back-end development experience using Java, Spring Boot, and related technologies.
- Experience designing and building REST APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL database technologies, including Oracle and Mongo.
- Experience with PaaS OpenShift/Kubernetes, GitLab, JIRA, SonarQube, Prisma, Wiz, and Maven or Gradle in DevSecOps environments.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, automated testing, and software quality engineering.
- Experience with event-streaming technologies such as Kafka and message queues.
- Experience with rapid application development using AI models such as Claude and GitLab Duo.
- Computer Science degree or equivalent understanding of computer science, object-oriented design, and data structures.
- Knowledge of distributed systems, high-volume transaction processing, real-time integration platforms, Docker, and Kubernetes is valued.
- Corporate banking or payments technology experience is valued.
- Ability to demonstrate risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technology, and job-specific technical skills.
